Interviewing the World

This is an interesting prompt, really. As an author, a grad student, and a former reporter I have done more interviews than I can even count. It’s always an interesting experience, getting someone to open up enough to answer your questions – especially if they answer honestly. So, rather than draw from that previous well of information, I want to ask YOU, dear reader, some questions. Chiefly about writing and art in general. I’d love it if you would respond, either in comments or in a post of your own. Here goes!

What is your favorite form of art to enjoy?

When and if you read, do you have a preferred genre?

I have to ask, also, have you read any of my books?

If you have, do you have a favorite?

Who would you consider to be your favorite artist – and yes, you can have one for any and every medium!

Why is art important to your life?

Finally, what sort of art would you create if you could known for only one thing – but that one thing would put you on the list of the eternally beloved (think Bach, da Vinci, Shakespeare. etc…)?

Daily writing prompt
Interview someone — a friend, another blogger, your mother, the mailman — and write a post based on their responses.

  1. Well, I kind of stumbled over here through WordPress. I guess I’ll play…

What is your favorite form of art to enjoy?
    Music.

When and if you read, do you have a preferred genre?
These days I mostly read things that would go into the category of history or spirituality, but if I had to pick something fiction for pleasure it’d probably be SciFi or Vonnegut.

I have to ask, also, have you read any of my books?
    I have not.

If you have, do you have a favorite?
    See above 😛

Who would you consider to be your favorite artist – and yes, you can have one for any and every medium!
For music, it’s Muse. If we’re talking paintings, my favorite is probably The Starry Night or something by Dali.

Why is art important to your life?
It’s self expression mixed with spirituality. When you create, you employ godlike power at the microcosmic scale. Actually, maybe we’re all just a form of artistic expression from some divine being.

Finally, what sort of art would you create if you could known for only one thing – but that one thing would put you on the list of the eternally beloved (think Bach, da Vinci, Shakespeare. etc…)?
I think I’d have to compose some sort of haunting melody that revisits itself through multiple lifetimes… kind of like the plot to Cloud Atlas.

    • These are some excellent answers! I’m glad you responded, and glad you found me! I am right there with you on the power of being a creator. It’s the majesty of having the ability to make my fictional world anything and everything I want that continues to draw me in and make me so addicted to being an author. I have tons of blog posts about exactly that! I hope you’ll stick around and read more, and I definitely hope you’ll check out my books! I have novels, stories, and poems for everyone!

  2. This seems like a golden Opportunity to get interviewed!

My favourite form of art is creative writing.

I prefer reading books based on psychology, problem solving and life skills.

    Sorry ಠ_ಠ
I’ve not read any of your books but maybe in future I can read them

It’s pretty difficult to name one favourite artist.

But watching movies always makes me admire art and gives me a new outlook to view this world.

Art is important for me because it reminds me of my heartbeat.
